Narooma has something for everyone!

Narooma enjoys a temperate climate all year round with pleasant summers and mild winters. With its beautiful unspoilt beaches to stroll along and the crystal clear waters of Wagonga Inlet this makes Narooma a Jewel of the Eurobodalla Coast. Narooma is surrounded by National Parks ,State Forests and to the south west is Mt. Dromadary [806m.] where you will find an abundance of flora and fauna to see. Just offshore is Montague Island with its fur seals and penguin colonies. As well as the Historic Lighthouse which was built in 1881, a must for all to see. The whale watching season runs from September through to November.

"Noorooma" an aboriginal word for "clear blue waters" was proclaimed a village in 1886. A short time later it was inadvertently renamed "Narooma" by the Bodalla postmaster and the name was then taken up by the Post Office.
